Michelle Willis is an American composer and music educator whose choral writing grows out of extensive experience both teaching and making music.

A graduate of Ricks College (now BYU–Idaho) and Boise State University, Willis studied music education and has written commissioned works for organizations and ensembles including the Idaho Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, Chorister’s Guild of Boise, Fifth Wheel, and Borah High School. Her compositions have been performed by collegiate and school ensembles including the Ricks College Concert Chorale, Meridian High School Chamber Singers, Idaho Falls High School A Cappella Choir, and Boise State University Meistersingers.

Her experience as a composer, educator, vocalist, pianist, violinist, and private music teacher gives her a particularly practical understanding of writing music for developing musicians.
