Pitch Raises

When a piano goes a prolonged amount of time since its last tuning, or if it has gone through a move, chances are your piano needs a pitch raise in addition to a standard maintenance tuning. Our technicians carefully review your piano's overall pitch and determine before working whether your piano needs a pitch raise. We never do any work without getting your approval first.

Piano Cleaning

It may surprise you how much dirt and other contaminants make it inside your piano just through daily use in your home. We provide a thorough cleaning service that can be added to your tuning and completed during the same appointment. We clean the soundboard, outside and under your keys, bridge, action and exterior of your piano.

How Much Does Piano Tuning Cost in Utah?

Most professional piano tunings in Utah typically range from $125 to $175, depending on the piano’s condition, how long it’s been since the last tuning, and your location.

Pianos that have gone several years without tuning, or that have experienced significant temperature or humidity changes, may require a pitch raise, which can affect cost.

We always explain pricing up front, with no surprises, and tailor our service to the needs of your piano, not a one-size-fits-all rate.

Piano Tuning Cost FAQs

How often does a piano need to be tuned?
Most pianos should be tuned once or twice per year to stay in proper pitch. Homes with frequent playing, fluctuating temperatures, or school and church pianos may require more frequent tuning.

Why does piano tuning cost vary?
Piano tuning cost depends on how long it has been since the last tuning, the piano’s overall condition, and whether a pitch raise is needed. Well-maintained pianos typically cost less to tune than neglected instruments.

Is a pitch raise included in piano tuning?
A standard tuning brings a piano to stable pitch, but pianos that are significantly out of tune may need a pitch raise, which is a separate process. We always evaluate the piano first and explain any additional work before proceeding.
