Wing It! A Musical About Taking Risks and Taking Flight!

Wing It! – A Musical About Taking Risks and Taking Flight

Spread your wings, take a chance, and discover just how high you can soar! Wing It! is a fun and meaningful elementary musical by John Jacobson and John Higgins that combines memorable songs, humorous characters, and an encouraging message about growing up, taking risks, and having the courage to try something new.

The baby birds are getting bigger, and it's finally time to leave the nest. There's just one problem—they don't want to go! Their nest is comfortable, familiar, and safe. Why would anyone want to leave?

Fortunately, the young birds aren't alone. A colorful collection of feathered friends—including rapping raptors, humming hummingbirds, honking geese, and more—helps them discover that eventually everyone has to take a chance, spread their wings, and learn to fly.

With a performance time of approximately 25 minutes, five original songs, and more than 30 speaking parts, Wing It! is an excellent choice for elementary school music programs, children's choirs, school productions, and young performers.

A Great Elementary School Musical

Wing It! gives music teachers an entertaining production that's manageable for younger performers while still providing plenty of opportunities for students to participate. Easy-to-learn rhyming dialogue helps young actors feel successful onstage, while the large number of speaking parts makes it easier to involve more students in the production.

Best of all, the story delivers an encouraging message children can understand: growing up sometimes means leaving what's comfortable, trying something new, and discovering what you're capable of.

Five Original Songs

The musical features five songs by John Jacobson and John Higgins:
