Lift Up Your Heads, O Ye Gates SATB-a cappella (Moderate level)

This work begins triumphantly and builds with Mannheim-type passages, then settles into a reflective Lutheran-type Chorale section. It concludes with a coda reminiscent of Randall Thompson's "Peaceable Kingdom."

Lyrics: Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee; let me not be ashamed. Show me thy ways, teach me thy paths.
